One Man’s Trash

“One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.”

Go ahead, call me cliché, but this quote speaks to me. Buying secondhand is not just a hobby of mine or something I do to stay within budget (although these are certainly true), it’s my philosophy. Other than the fact that I have a small heart attack every time I go over budget, I buy secondhand because it keeps me humble, creative, and it’s fun! But the thing that I find most remarkable about antiques and found treasures, is they remind me of my Savior. Jesus bought me when I was nothing but filthy rags and restored me to His vision of me. While fashion is something that can be fun to play around with, my ultimate goal is to honor the Lord with it.

The purpose of this blog will be to share some of my thoughts, photos, and advice on shopping secondhand. When you find a found treasure, you may have to get a little creative with updating it, so I hope to share some of my creative juices with my fellow bargain hunters! My husband and I regularly shop at the Salvation Army because 1) We are a young, broke, married couple, and 2) We love to go and just see what we end up finding! Sometimes it may be a really cool brand name that we could never afford, or just something totally out-of-the-box. Either way, it is a point of connection for us (it’s one of the first things we bonded over) and one of our favorite activities as a couple!

I hope you enjoy my posts and that you are as inspired as these clothes make me!
